Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was started in the year 2008.It
strives for excellence in the core field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. It provides
an international ambience in a local setting with innovative and engaging teaching methods,
workshops, lecture series, industry institute interaction, seminars by eminent speakers,
virtual industry tour and research activities. A team of highly qualified and committed faculty
and well equipped laboratories contributed to the quality enhancement in teaching and
learning processes for the students.
- The Programme is conducted based on curriculum prescribed by Anna University. The major
subjects included are: Electrical Machines, Transmission and Distribution, Electronic Devices
and Circuits, Electromagnetic theory, Control Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Micro
Processor and Micro Controllers and Power System Operation and Control, Renewable
Energy Systems.
- The Department has several well equipped laboratories where the students are exposed to
hands-on experience and acquire technical skills. The important laboratories of the
department are: Electrical Machines Lab, Control and Instrumentation Lab, Power
Electronics Lab, Power System Simulation Lab and Renewable Energy Systems Lab.
- The academic activities of the students are not limited to the syllabus alone and are
extended into a number of co-curricular activities. The Department encourages the students
to organize seminars, workshops and conferences on advanced areas of Electrical and
Electronics Engineering inviting participants from other institutions and experts from
institution of excellence.
